It’s June 1st, so it’s as official as it gets now: Rev. Micah Bucey is the new Senior Minister of Judson Memorial Church! I wrote him a Tiny Prayer, since he’s written so many for all of us, in honor of his (not-so?) new call.

A “Help, Thanks, Wow” Prayer for Rev. Micah Bucey

Help Micah as he has helped all of us:
to look for ways to say “yes” when this broken world says “no”;
to show up when empire wishes we’d stay home;
to build a longer table instead of a narrower gate;
to let the glitter fill the cracks and let the cracks let the light in.

Thanks for Micah, at such a time as this:
for his brave leadership and his cheerful servantship;
for his joyful noise and his steady silence;
for his hair reaching up to heaven and his heart reaching down to earth;
for his patience with cats and committees and his impatience with injustice and hate.

Wow! Micah has accepted the call we have offered.
Wow him with the fire of your love.
Wow him with opportunities to be the church.
Wow him with our encouragement and support.
Wow him with time to preach and time to pray, time to retreat and time to return.
