I have FEELINGS about “Never Swim Alone.” It was rejected seventeen times, including a number of very kind near misses but misses nonetheless, until JMWW picked it up. It’s part of my Swimmer series, which I’m hoping to eventually publish as a hybrid chapbook; another story from it is forthcoming later this year.

I might recommend reading “Your Jesus Year” before you read “Never Swim Alone,” and then maybe read “To the Swimmer at Dollymount, Who Wanted to Die but Became a Merman Instead”?
