This is really not so new at this point; “Fires in Canada” came out with The Dodge in January, but the first two months of 2024 have been a real doozy: illness, darkness, rejection, oh my! But I’m getting back to updating the ol’ website, so here it is. I’m so proud of this essay and so grateful to The Dodge, a magazine with quite a rich heritage, for finding a place for it.
